How it all began

Picture it: Pawtucket, RI. 2005. An avid short fiction writer, I had grown tired of the daily grind. When I found out “copywriters” were a THING, I was intrigued. I wanted to learn. I devoured every book I could find on the topic, put up a pathetic DIY website, and hung out my biz shingle. It was a gamble, but an exhilarating one. I had a feeling things would be ok - and that yes, I could bring real value to businesses. Haven’t looked back since.

How I learned my craft

I’m a graduate of the AWAI Six-Figure Copywriting Course and did one-on-one mentoring and coaching with marketing expert and author Marcia Yudkin and Peter Bowerman, copywriter and author of The Well-Fed Writer.

I discovered early on that copywriting is about more than stringing together a bunch of nice words on a page. It’s about understanding your audience on a gut level and tapping into their hopes, desires, fears, and dreams. Words are powerful. I learned how to leverage this power every day to help my clients reach more of their target customers… convert more leads into sales… and expand what was possible.

Since then, I’ve honed my skills through working with hundreds of clients, agencies, and countless talented professionals in design, marketing, and SEO.

Who do I write copy for?

My freelance copywriting clients range from small, family-owned businesses to global corporations with thousands of employees across multiple offices. Although I’m based in the Boston area, I work effectively with companies across the United States and even around the world. Some of my clients have been with me for more than a decade!

Those personal details you’re dying for…

I live in a beautiful farming community with my husband and three children, our rescue dog Violet, and a menagerie of backyard ducks and chickens (it’s as fun as you might imagine).
